The Bachelor of Education (Teaching of English as a Second Language) programme has been offered since 1983. This program is offered to those who have completed Matriculation or Foundation studies, and Diploma and Higher Education Certificate (STPM) holders or those who have equivalent academic qualifications to pursue their studies at the first degree level. The programme was renamed in 2017 to the Bachelor of Education in TESL with a total of 127 minimum credits for graduation including 2 credits of extracurricular course § The duration of study is 4 years (8 semesters) § Among the career paths that the graduates from the programme can enter are in the fields of teaching, research and editing

Eligibility

1. IELTS - 1. Minimum overall score of 6.0 for TESL/English or 5.5 for other programmes; or

 2. 2. TOEFL - Minimum overall score of 550 for TESL/English or 500 for other programmes; or

3. Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) - Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) - enrolled at ELS-UPM - Level 109 English or Level 107 for other

 

Entry Requirement

Applicant who is interested in pursuing his/ her studied at UPM must fulfil the following: To have received a National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level or th equivalent of 12 years of basic education) with the grade 80% and above. or A Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00
